Sparce is an online school for people who want to begin working independently. If you want to start freelancing, become a contractor, start a business, or offer a service as an independent worker, you'll gain a huge head-start by completing our majors. Ultimately, the more time and effort you put into learning all of the content thoroughly, the more you'll be prepared when you venture out on your own.

An important part of working independently is being able to learn along the way. We structure and teach the majors in a way that gives you the starting point, then points you to the tools and lingo you need to go as far as you want afterward. The things you'll learn here will help you lay a foundation, so you know how to use the internet and other people to learn as much as you want on the topic when you finish.

Yes, we aim to give you a general and comprehensive understanding for each topic. This definitely won't make you an expert in any given field (especially since that often comes with time and experience). But 

Actually, no! This school operates through objective-based learning. So it takes as long as you need to watch the videos, read the content, complete the assignments, and finish the projects and tests. We estimate that you'll spend an average of 7 hours a week learning the concepts and completing the requirements, though you'll ultimately get out of it what you put into it.

No, you don't! You can jump right in, even if you only have an interest in the topic. However, each major allows you to use your idea in completing assignments and projects. So if you do have an idea already, you can actually work on your business while in our school. In fact, we encourage it!

For example, the marketing strategy that you'll create in the Marketing Essentials major can be tailored to your specific business idea. That way, you'll be walking away with a practical marketing strategy for your business when you finish. And if you don't have an idea yet, you'll still have the info you need to create a strategy when you finish.

Yes, for sure. Each major has its own social network. When you log in, you'll have access to the group chat and you can chat any current member of the major. This is great for networking, getting help understanding a concept, collaboration, and mutual encouragement as everyone prepares for independent work together!

The world has changed, and so should the way we approach education. The window of opportunity to begin working on your own is wide open! It's important that we get you going as soon as possible, so we limit each major to six months. However, if you wish to take longer on a topic, you can go at your own pace.

Also, with so much information available online, it's easier than ever to learn more on your own. That's why our majors teach you both the fundamentals and how to continue teaching yourself going forward. This enables us to take less time teaching you every little detail, but instead focus on teaching you concepts and how to tailor your future learning to what you actually need to know.

Finally, we do have a minimum of six months so that our mentors can focus on no more than one specific topic each week with each student (even if some choose to linger on a topic longer). This ensures that the mentor can provide quality and value during the mentor chats.

There are grades, but we grade differently. Each assignment and the final project are all graded. Instead of the letter-system, we grade with the following criteria: Incomplete, Complete, and Excellent.

To get a grade of "Excellent", you must demonstrate how that project or assignment applies to your own venture. Don't have a venture in mind yet? You can resubmit your assignments later with the application to receive a grade of "Excellent".

You need a minimum of "Completed" for all assignments and projects to get your Pro Certificate. However, if you get "Excellent" on 80% or more of your work, then you get special Pro+ Certificate!

You can! If you sign up and decide to cancel halfway through a major, you can do so. However, you won't receive a Pro Certificate until you finish all of the content, assignments, and projects.
